Regional veterinary and animal welfare initiatives launched across multiple countries

Various regional governments and organizations across Latin America and Europe are implementing initiatives to promote animal welfare and public health through veterinary services.

In Brazil, several cities are conducting large-scale rabies vaccination campaigns. Goiânia recently immunized over 74,000 dogs and cats, while other municipalities like Curitiba, Dourados, and Janaúba are providing mobile or scheduled vaccination and sterilization services. In Campo Grande, the Subea is offering mobile veterinary consultations and neutering assessments.

In Mexico, the State of Mexico has launched a massive rabies vaccination campaign aiming to deliver over 1.1 million doses across 125 municipalities. Similarly, in Villa de Pozos, local authorities are conducting reinforcement weeks for canine and feline immunization.

In Europe, the Generalitat de Catalunya has released a new guide for the responsible ownership of sport and leisure horses, covering everything from veterinary advice before purchase to end-of-life care. In Spain, the Festanimal event in Mollet is promoting responsible adoption and animal defense. Meanwhile, in Portugal, the municipality of Castelo de Paiva is running an itinerant campaign for rabies prophylaxis and electronic identification for pets.
