Pomerania Cape port construction starts in Swinoujście, Poland

Construction began on July 13, 2026 on the Pomerania Cape project, a new deep‑water container terminal on the Baltic Sea at Swinoujście. The Ministry of Infrastructure announced the handover of the site and the building of a temporary access road, moving the venture from planning to execution. The terminal will cover about 186 hectares, feature nearly 3 km of new quay with a breakwater, a 17‑metre‑deep port basin, and a 1.3 km long container berth. Designed for a handling capacity of roughly two million TEU per year, it will be the largest container terminal in Poland’s 75‑year port history. The development is expected to boost local employment and position Poland more prominently in European logistics and trade.

The project marks one of the most significant infrastructure investments currently underway in the country, aiming to modernise Baltic Sea transport routes and enhance the nation’s role in international shipping.
