Pomerode students win five awards at national science fair

Students and teachers from the municipal school system of Pomerode earned five awards at the XI Brazilian Fair of Scientific Initiation (FEBIC). The event, held at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) campus in Joinville, featured 390 projects from Brazil, Mexico, and Paraguay.

Key achievements included the project ‘Die Honigbiene’, which investigated stingless bee colonies and won the title of Best Public School Project and first place in Category III. Another award-winning project focused on the ecological importance of the Juçara palm in the Atlantic Forest, earning the ‘Small Scientist’ prize. Additionally, educators and students were recognized for research involving early childhood education and solar energy sustainability.
