Pomozi. ba launches appeal for Hanifa Strika's hip surgery

The humanitarian association Pomozi. ba has launched an appeal to fund a necessary hip surgery for 62-year-old Hanifa Strika from Zenica. The required amount for the procedure in Bosnia and Herzegovina is 19,865 KM.

Ms. Strika has faced severe health complications following a 2022 hip operation, which resulted in a hip dislocation and sepsis. Her condition worsened in March 2026 due to the development of a cyst, leading doctors to recommend a new surgical intervention. She currently suffers from intense pain and mobility issues.

As both Ms. Strika and her husband are pensioners, they cannot afford the costs independently. Furthermore, because orthopedic aids were previously approved in 2022 and 2023, the Health Insurance Institute will not cover new ones, classifying them as permanent aids.
