Pomozi.ba medical fundraising appeals in Bosnia

Overview

The humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba has initiated several fundraising appeals to support individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina facing high medical costs.

In mid-September 2026, the association launched appeals for two women requiring cancer treatments not covered by the Solidarity Fund. Svijetlana Rošić sought approximately 13,681.60 KM for cervical cancer therapy, while Amira Plaćo required 25,800 KM for immunotherapy following metastatic breast cancer. Shortly thereafter, a new appeal was issued for 22-year-old Merjem Mandžuka, who requires 41,268 KM for specialized surgery in Istanbul to treat a fistula caused by Crohn’s disease.

On September 25, 2026, an appeal was launched for 55-year-old Suvada Mulaosmanović, who requires 41,339 KM for lung cancer therapy after the Health Insurance Institute denied coverage. By October 6, 2026, additional appeals were issued for Bahtija Mešeljević, a 54-year-old pensioner requiring 61,264 KM for throat cancer therapy, and Emira Mahovac, who needs 9,722.33 KM for a diabetes sensor and insulin pump because she has exceeded the age limit for coverage.

On October 14, 2026, a new appeal was launched for 62-year-old Hanifa Strika of Zenica. She requires 19,865 KM for hip surgery following complications from a 2022 operation that resulted in dislocation and sepsis. Because the Health Insurance Institute classifies the necessary orthopedic aids as permanent aids due to previous approvals, the costs must be covered through donations.
