Pomozi.ba launches humanitarian appeals for medical treatments
The humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba has launched two separate fundraising appeals for medical assistance in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bahtija Mešeljević, a 54-year-old pensioner from Žepče and recipient of the ‘Zlatni ljiljan’ decoration, requires 61,264 KM for six months of therapy. He is battling throat cancer that has metastasized to his liver and lungs, and the necessary medication is not covered by the Health Insurance Institute.
Additionally, an appeal has been opened for Emira Mahovac from Zavidovići, who requires 9,722.33 KM for a diabetes sensor and an insulin pump. Having lived with diabetes for eight years and survived three ketoacidotic comas, Mahovac requires the device for safer insulin dosing. Because she has exceeded the age limit of 26, the Health Insurance Institute no longer covers the cost of the pump.
