Pompei launches inclusive summer camp for children, including 13 autistic participants

The municipality of Pompei has opened the Campus Estivo 2026, a summer program that provides a safe, organized space for children and their families during the July‑August months. The initiative emphasizes educational play, social interaction and community building, and explicitly targets inclusion, welcoming 13 children with autism alongside their peers.

Mayor Giuseppe Tortora said the camp aims to remove obstacles for families and ensure every child can develop autonomy and confidence, while councilor for social policies Ferdinando Uliano helped coordinate the project with municipal offices and local operators.
