Autism inclusion initiatives in Campania

In late July 2026, the municipality of Pompei opened the Campus Estivo 2026, a summer camp designed to provide a safe, organized environment for children and families. The program emphasized educational play and social interaction while explicitly including 13 children with autism, aiming to foster autonomy and confidence.

A week later, the Campania regional government issued decree no. 281 to fund a digital call for proposals that will create integrated care pathways for people with autism spectrum disorders transitioning to adulthood. Backed by EU and national disability funds, the initiative seeks to expand socialisation, vocational training, residential support, and family accompaniment services, with applications accepted through an online portal.

Together, these actions illustrate a widening effort in Campania—from local, seasonal inclusion activities to region‑wide, digitally managed support programs—targeting broader social integration and long‑term care for individuals on the autism spectrum.
