Pontevedra council launches +Escénicas shows in Baiona and O Rosal

The Diputación de Pontevedra is extending its +Escénicas cultural circuit, a programme that subsidises professional theatre and dance for municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. On 26 July the comedy show by Pablo Meixe was staged in Baiona’s main square, and on 28 July the dance piece “Coa cabeza nas nubes” by Cía Söa performed in O Rosal.

The initiative operates with a €204,000 budget, a 36 % increase from its first edition, and runs until 31 March 2027. The provincial council covers 90 % of costs for towns under 5,000 residents, 80 % for those with 5,000–10,000, and 70 % for 10,000–20,000, allowing each municipality to select up to five performances from a catalogue of more than 600 proposals.
