The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), through its Núcleo de Biotecnología Curauma (NBC), the Agencia de Sustentabilidad y Cambio Climático and the Asociación Gremial de Empresas de Turismo de Concón, completed the "Transferencia Programa para el Turismo Sostenible y Experiencias Auténticas Concón‑Mantagua". Funded by the Fondo de Innovación para la Competitividad of the Gobierno Regional de Valparaíso, the initiative provided more than 30 individual diagnostics, improvement plans, technical assistance, carbon and water‑footprint measurements and a series of trainings for over 30 tourism and gastronomy firms in Concón and Mantagua. Workshops gathered more than a hundred participants and distributed kits for waste valorisation, energy‑efficiency tools and technical manuals. The project generated a portfolio of proposals that enabled several companies to obtain financing, including the award of multiple energy‑efficiency initiatives.
