PopCon convention debuts in Catanzaro with pop culture programming

The inaugural Pop Culture Convention, known as PopCon, is scheduled to take place on October 10 and 11 at the Ente Fiera Giovanni Colosimo in Catanzaro Lido. Directed by Sante Mazzei, the two-day event is dedicated to pop culture, including comics, video games, cosplay, and music.

Notable guests include Darick Robertson, co-creator of ‘The Boys’, as well as Giovanni Muciaccia and musical performer Giorgio Vanni. The convention will feature various thematic areas, including sections for modern consoles and free-to-use vintage arcade cabinets.

As part of the festivities, Nuvola Comics will host a presentation of the graphic novel ‘Scusa 94’, written by Andrea Belcastro and illustrated by Fabio Gaudio. The work, set in Calabria, explores themes of preadolescence and nostalgia during the 1990s.
