Pope León XIV’s Planned November Visit to Argentina Gains Momentum

The Vatican has sent a delegation to Argentina to study logistics, security and protocol for a possible papal trip by Pope León XIV. Archbishop Marcelo Colombo said the team met with national government officials, the Casa Militar and the Argentine Episcopal Conference to assess venues. While details remain tentative, November is being discussed as a likely window, with the itinerary also expected to include Uruguay and Peru.

At the same time, President Javier Milei, speaking at the 138th Rural Expo in Palermo, highlighted his administration’s economic reforms and noted growing public expectations for the papal visit, describing it as a historic moment for the country. The newly appointed Vatican ambassador, Monsignor Michael Wallace Banach, presented his credentials to Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, underscoring the strengthening ties between Argentina and the Holy See.
