Pope Leo Announces 12 Global Prayer Intentions for 2027

Pope Leo has selected twelve prayer intentions for the upcoming year, publishing the 2027 monthly intentions in February so that translations and materials can be prepared in languages such as Indonesian, Hindi, Swahili and Guarani. The Vatican‑run Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network promotes the campaign “Pray with the Pope,” inviting the faithful to join the pontiff in prayer for issues ranging from natural disasters to broader humanitarian needs.

The network, which operates under an administrative council appointed by the Holy See, includes international coordinators, formation leaders and communication teams, and is active in more than 90 countries. Originating in 1844 as the Apostleship of Prayer, it was renamed and formally established as a Vatican foundation in 2020, continuing a 180‑year tradition of organized prayer for the Church’s mission worldwide.
