Pope Leo stresses God's generous wisdom in Angelus address from Castel Gandolfo
On Sunday, 12 July 2026, Pope Leo XIV delivered the Angelus from his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo. Referring to the parable of the sower, he said that God’s generosity “is not naive, but wise,” and that divine grace recognises a good potential within every heart, even when people are unaware of it.
He explained that the seed of the Word, when received with humility and openness, produces the fruits of the Holy Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self‑control. The pontiff urged the faithful to balance holiday rest with moments of silence, prayer, reading and meditation, so they may return to daily duties “renewed in body and spirit” and better equipped to proclaim the Gospel.
The address, aired from the Vatican’s summer residence in Italy, underscores the Pope’s call for spiritual renewal worldwide.
