Pope Leo XIV highlights beauty and hope at Castel Gandolfo concert

On 18 July, Pope Leo XIV concluded a concert held in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace at Castel Gandolfo, organized by the Diocese of Albano during his summer stay.

The pontiff praised music, art and beauty as means to lift humanity’s gaze toward heaven, recalling a recent pilgrimage to Spain with the same purpose. He thanked the performers – violinist Marco Rogliano, pianist Rossana Tomassi Golkar and the I Musici di Parma orchestra under Pier Carlo Orizio – for moving him deeply, and expressed gratitude to the diocese for the event. The audience included religious, military and civil representatives of the Castelli Romani region.

Leo XIV stressed that, despite wars, conflict and unemployment, beauty offers a path to God and renewed hope.
