Pope Leo XIV meets with Argentine archbishop and US charity delegation

Pope Leo XIV held separate meetings at the Vatican with representatives from the Archdiocese of Mercedes-Luján and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

During a private audience, Archbishop Jorge Eduardo Scheinig discussed the pastoral reality of his archdiocese and coordinated details for the Pope’s upcoming visit to Argentina in November. Scheinig also addressed ongoing canonization processes for Padre Esteban Salvaire during meetings with various Roman Curia departments.

In a separate meeting with a delegation from the United States branch of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Pope emphasized that prayer and social justice are inseparable. He encouraged the organization’s volunteers to continue serving the poor and marginalized as a witness to their faith.
