Pope Leo XIV to visit Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru in November

Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to undertake an apostolic tour of South America in November, visiting Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru. In Argentina, the pontiff will be present from November 8 to 11, with planned activities in Buenos Aires, Luján, and Córdoba.

In Buenos Aires, officials are preparing for massive crowds estimated between 600,000 and 800,000 people. The Monumento a los Españoles in Palermo has been identified as a primary venue for the central mass and a youth gathering, a decision aimed at ensuring capacity and practicing austerity. The Pope's itinerary also includes a visit to the Devoto prison and the Cottolengo Don Orione in Claypole.

In Córdoba, the central mass is expected to draw approximately one million people. A Vatican delegation has already arrived in Argentina to coordinate logistics, security, and technical inspections of potential sites. In Uruguay, the Pope will visit from November 6 to 8, with a scheduled civic act in Montevideo alongside President Yamandú Orsi and visits to Paysandú and Florida.
