Pope Tawadros II urges Egyptian children to love nation at Alexandria conference

Pope Tawadros II, head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, addressed about 180 children from across Egypt at the first Logos Junior conference held at the St. Anba Bishoy Monastery in Wadi El‑Natrun, Alexandria. The eight‑day event featured a procession, theatrical performances, choral music and a broadcast segment on the Coptic children’s channel “Kochi”. Senior clergy, priests and lay volunteers attended, and the children participated in interactive sessions, including an animated map lesson about Egypt’s geography and history.

In his closing remarks the Pope emphasized love for the country, faith, and the Church, urging the youngsters to act as ambassadors of compassion and service in their families and communities. He highlighted the significance of nurturing national and spiritual values from an early age, and concluded the gathering with a photo session and a celebratory ceremony attended by clergy and parents.
