Porsche Taycan 2027 adds virtual E‑Shift gearbox and larger battery
Porsche’s 2027 model‑year update equips every Taycan with the optional E‑Shift system, a software‑driven feature that simulates eight virtual gears operated by paddle shifters on the GT‑sport steering wheel; the system is standard on the Turbo GT and adds a virtual rev limiter, engine‑braking feel and a re‑tuned Electric Sport Sound. The lineup now comes with the 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus as standard, extending WLTP range to about 700 km and supporting DC fast charging up to 320 kW. A NACS charging port is fitted on the passenger‑side front fender for Tesla Superchargers while the driver‑side retains the J1772 AC inlet. The infotainment suite is upgraded to Porsche Digital Interaction, offering up to five times more processing power, OTA software updates, AI‑assisted voice control and richer smartphone integration. Optional Manthey Kits for the Turbo GT with Weissach package add aerodynamic, chassis and brake upgrades, helping the car record a Nürburgring lap of roughly 6:55. Low‑rolling‑resistance summer tyres add up to 20 km of range, and the paint catalog expands to 153 colours. Base prices start around €102,600, with the E‑Shift option priced at €964.
