Porsche and Geely Unveil High‑Performance Electric SUVs
Porsche introduced the new generation of the Cayenne Electric at its Allgäu centre in Kempten, Germany. The Cayenne Turbo Electric delivers up to 1,156 hp, accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and features Porsche’s Active Ride suspension, an OLED instrument cluster and the Porsche Wireless Charging System for inductive charging. It supports up to 390 kW (approximately 325 km range in ten minutes) and retains off‑road capability with a 500 mm ground clearance and 3,500 kg towing capacity.
Geely presented the Galaxy Cruiser 700, a plug‑in hybrid off‑road SUV with a combined system output of 830 kW (about 1,113 hp). The model incorporates three electric motors, LiDAR and radar sensors, and Nvidia’s AGX Thor‑based assistance suite that enables partial autonomous driving. Designed for rugged terrain, it offers a 2,880 kg curb weight, a spare tire mounted on the roof, and a digital rear‑view system.
Both launches highlight the automotive industry’s push toward high‑performance electric and hybrid powertrains, advanced driver‑assistance technologies, and rapid‑charging solutions.
