Porsche cancels 2027 Taycan wagon models while adding virtual‑gear‑shift drive
Porsche has decided to drop the Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo wagon variants from the 2027 Taycan lineup, stating that the models played a "minor role" in the U.S. market. The decision means the high‑performance Turbo GT will remain the flagship, priced at €260,390.
For 2027 the Taycan also gains a new E‑Shift virtual‑gear‑shift system. It is standard on the Turbo GT and available as an €1,100 option on other versions, featuring customized sound effects, a virtual tachometer and shift‑indicator display. Additional updates include a low‑rolling‑resistance tyre package that adds 20 km to range, reaching up to 700 km (WLTP) with the Performance Battery Plus, and an upgraded infotainment system with clearer graphics and faster wireless charging. Prices have slipped slightly overall, with the base Taycan starting at €109,390, the Sport Turismo priced €2,000 higher, and the Cross Turismo beginning at €122,390.
