Brazil reports multiple fatal highway accidents and speeding violations

Multiple fatal and serious traffic accidents have been reported across various Brazilian highways. In Cachoeira de Pajeú, Minas Gerais, a head-on collision between a bus and a truck resulted in six deaths and at least nine injuries on the BR-116.

In Apucarana, Paraná, a driver was seriously injured and trapped in their vehicle after a Chevrolet Corsa collided with two trucks on the BR-376, specifically at a section where the dual carriageway transitions to a single lane.

Other notable incidents include a fatal accident in Pilar, Alagoas, where a driver died after a truck loaded with coconuts overturned on the BR-101. In Castro, Paraná, a 45-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a rear-end collision on the PR-151 involving a vehicle that fled the scene.

Additionally, law enforcement activities have highlighted speeding issues. In Sergipe, a Federal Highway Police (PRF) operation flagged 213 drivers for exceeding speed limits. In Goiás, a Porsche was recorded traveling at 205 km/h on the BR-153, significantly above the 110 km/h limit.
