Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric outperforms 911 Turbo S in acceleration test
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric has demonstrated performance capabilities that rival high-end sports cars. In an independent test by Car and Driver, the nearly 2.7-ton SUV completed a 402-meter sprint in 9.5 seconds, outperforming the Porsche 911 Turbo S in the same metric by 0.2 seconds.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric produces 850 kW (approximately 1,156 hp) with Launch Control and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Despite its weight and utility as a five-seater family SUV capable of towing a 3.5-ton trailer, it achieved a lateral acceleration of 1.05 g on a circular track.
Separately, the 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet features T-Hybrid technology, integrating an electric motor into the eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle. This hybrid system, combined with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, produces a total of 701 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-60 mph time of 2.4 seconds.
