Porsche Taycan gets 2027 upgrades with E‑Shift gearbox simulation and new low‑rolling‑resistance tires
Porsche has unveiled a comprehensive update for the Taycan for the 2027 model year. The centerpiece is the E‑Shift system, which simulates an eight‑gear transmission using steering‑wheel paddles, a virtual rev counter, altered engine braking and a specially tuned electric sport sound. The feature is standard on the Turbo GT and optional on all other Taycan variants.
New low‑rolling‑resistance summer tires are offered for rear‑wheel‑drive versions, boosting range by up to 20 km. Combined with the Performance Plus battery, the Taycan can now achieve a WLTP‑rated range of up to 700 km. The infotainment suite has been upgraded with a more powerful processor, AI‑driven voice control, expanded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, OTA software updates and an App Center for third‑party apps. Additionally, a Manthey Kit for the Turbo GT, featuring aerodynamic, suspension and drivetrain enhancements, is now available directly from the factory.
Orders for the 2027 Taycan have already opened.
