Porsche SE invests in US rocket firm Stoke Space Technologies

Porsche Automobil Holding SE has announced an investment in the US-based aerospace company Stoke Space Technologies. The investment, reported to be in the low double-digit million dollar range, is part of a larger financing round in which Stoke Space raised approximately 1 billion US dollars.

Stoke Space Technologies is developing a two-stage launch vehicle designed for full reusability. The company aims to increase launch frequency and significantly reduce costs compared to traditional rocket launches. The first launch of their 'Nova' rocket is currently planned for early 2027.

This move represents Porsche SE's second venture into the space industry. In 2021, the holding company acquired a minority stake in the German startup Isar Aerospace. Hans Dieter Pötsch, head of Porsche SE, noted the high demand in the rocket launch market, which is currently dominated by SpaceX.
