Stoke Space Technologies funding and development

Overview

Stoke Space Technologies, a US-based aerospace startup, has successfully secured $1 billion in a Series E funding round, led by Point72 Ventures and Spark Capital. This brings the company’s total capital raised to $2.3 billion. The funds are earmarked for expanding production and testing infrastructure, preparing for orbital flight, and developing its next-generation launch vehicle.

In conjunction with the financing, the company unveiled the Nova Block 2, a larger iteration of its fully reusable rocket designed to carry 15 tons to low Earth orbit (LEO). This model is expected to make its first flight in 2029, positioning the company as a competitor to Rocket Lab’s Neutron rocket. To achieve full reusability of both the booster and the upper stage, Stoke Space is developing a metallic heat shield for the second stage that is actively cooled by liquid hydrogen.

The company maintains its timeline to launch the Nova Pathfinder in early 2027, which will serve as a technology demonstrator to test unique recovery systems while carrying payloads to orbit.
