Porsche Taycan 2027 adds virtual E‑Shift gearbox, extended range and Manthey performance kit

Porsche’s 2027 model year for the Taycan introduces the E‑Shift system, a software‑based virtual eight‑gear gearbox that pilots can shift with steering‑wheel paddles. The system, standard on the Turbo GT and optional on other variants, includes a virtual rev‑limiter and torque curves tuned for each simulated gear, complemented by the Electric Sport Sound.

Range increases to up to 700 km (WLTP) for the rear‑wheel‑drive sedan and 671 km for the Sport Tourer, supported by a 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus and 320 kW DC fast‑charging capability. The Turbo GT gains a new Manthey kit that refines chassis, engine and aerodynamics, a development that helped set a Nürburgring electric‑car lap record.

The infotainment suite has been overhauled with a faster Porsche Communication Management computer, AI‑driven voice interaction, customizable widgets and an App Center. US‑spec models receive a dual‑socket charging setup (NACS and J1772) and start at $111,900 plus delivery.
