Porsche to launch limited 911 GT3 Bergsport for Alpine markets

Porsche has announced the upcoming 2026 launch of the 911 GT3 Bergsport, a highly exclusive, limited-production variant designed specifically for Alpine mountain passes. The vehicle is expected to be officially unveiled to the public on September 1, 2026.

Production is strictly capped at 100 units. In a move that limits global availability, Porsche intends to sell these vehicles exclusively in four countries: France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Potential buyers must reside in one of these markets and likely possess an established relationship with local Porsche teams to secure an order.

The Bergsport name pays homage to Porsche’s lightweight 1960s hillclimb racing prototypes. While unlike those open-top racers, this new model is expected to retain its windshield and roof. It is anticipated to feature the existing 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine found in the current 911 GT3 lineup, with chassis tuning optimized for winding mountain roads.
