Porsche unveils 911 GT3 S/C convertible with automatic roof
Porsche has revealed the 911 GT3 S/C, the first 911 GT3 model to feature a fully automatic roof mounted on magnesium arches. The convertible roof can be operated at speeds up to 50 km/h and takes approximately 12 seconds to open or close. The vehicle is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated boxer engine producing 510 cv and 450 Nm, capable of reaching 9,000 rpm. It features a six-speed manual transmission exclusively, driving the rear wheels, and achieves a top speed of 313 km/h.
In Portugal, the 911 GT3 S/C is priced starting from 340,762 euros, including VAT and ISV. The model introduces a double-wishbone front suspension to a 911 convertible for the first time. Despite the technical specifications, the vehicle has drawn critical attention from Top Gear, which titled a YouTube review “New Porsche 911 GT3 S/C: Worst GT3 Ever!”.
In terms of physical dimensions, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS stands at 1,322 mm, placing it in the lower half of its segment compared to competitors like the Ferrari 296 GTB (1,187 mm) and the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 4-door Coupé (1,447 mm).
