Porsche unveils high‑performance circuit kit and virtual 8‑gear shift for Taycan EV
Porsche announced the first-ever circuit‑performance kit for its electric sports car, the Taycan Turbo GT (Beyschah package). Called the MannTake Kit, it adds extensive aerodynamic upgrades—new rear wing, front diffuser, enlarged rear diffuser and under‑body air deflector—raising downforce at 200 km/h from 95 kg to over 310 kg and increasing total downforce to about 740 kg. The powertrain is also tuned, delivering a base output of 600 kW (730 kW in attack mode) and torque of 1,270 Nm, with a short‑term boost of up to 730 kW for ten seconds. The car set a Nürburgring North Loop record for electric executive cars with a time of 6:55.533.
Separately, Porsche revealed its 2026 Taycan model for the European market, featuring a new “E‑Shift” system that simulates an eight‑gear gearbox via paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The virtual gearbox provides gear‑shift feel, including simulated shift‑jerk and torque characteristics. The model also achieves a WLTP range of up to 700 km—the longest for a Taycan—thanks to the Performance Battery Plus, and receives updated infotainment with AI‑driven voice control, OTA updates, and expanded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
