Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, and France finalize GEX 26 military exercise

Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, and France have entered the final planning phase for the GEX 26 multinational military exercise. A final planning conference was held from September 22 to 24 at Camp Aïssat in Libreville, Gabon.

The meeting aimed to finalize operational details and implementation modalities for the upcoming maneuvers. The GEX 26 operations are scheduled to take place simultaneously in November across both Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon. The exercise will involve the armed forces of all three nations working through common scenarios and coordinated training sequences.

Beyond tactical operations, the exercise is designed to strengthen military cooperation and interoperability between the participating armies. Key objectives include harmonizing procedures, testing coordination between different contingents, and consolidating the ability to conduct joint operations.
