Port of A Coruña expands leisure revenue and cruise arrivals

The Port of A Coruña is experiencing a shift toward leisure and cultural activities, supplementing its traditional industrial operations. Revenue from leisure and cultural events has grown significantly from approximately 200,000 euros in 2022 to nearly 400,000 euros in 2025. A major contributor to this growth is the Marta Ortega Foundation, which pays an annual fee of roughly 240,000 euros to host exhibitions at the Batería dock.

In addition to cultural growth, the port continues to host large-scale maritime tourism. On September 15, the city is set to receive a last-minute triple cruise call involving approximately 14,000 visitors. The scheduled vessels include the ‘Liberty of the Seas’ and ‘Arvia’, alongside the smaller ‘Seadream II’, which moved its arrival forward by one day.
