Port of Açu and OceanPact sign deal to expand offshore services

The Port of Açu and OceanPact have signed a letter of intent to expand OceanPact’s operational footprint at the port and industrial complex in São João da Barra, Rio de Janeiro State. The agreement, signed during the ROG.e trade show, aims to bolster infrastructure supporting the regional oil and gas supply chain.

The deal includes the immediate addition of approximately 27,000 m² to OceanPact’s current 45,000 m² area. Furthermore, the company has been granted the right of first refusal to incorporate an additional 60,000 m², which includes roughly 100 meters of channel access. This expansion is intended to facilitate the development of a private quay up to 300 meters long to accommodate offshore service and support vessels.

OceanPact has operated at the Port of Açu since 2014, utilizing the site for subsea services, maritime support, and environmental emergency response. The Port of Açu, located off the Campos Basin, serves as a major logistics hub and handles more than 30% of Brazil’s oil exports.
