Piraeus Port: 20-year-old arrested with cocaine and cannabis
Authorities at the Port of Piraeus arrested a 20-year-old Albanian national on August 20, 2026, following a drug search on a passenger ferry. The operation was conducted by the Security Office and the Regional Narcotics Prosecution Group of the Central Port Authorities of Piraeus, assisted by a specialized detection dog from the Hellenic Coast Guard.
During the inspection, officers discovered various narcotics in the individual's possession. This included 22.3 grams of cocaine, 100.4 grams of processed cannabis, and 33 grams of raw cannabis fragments. A metal grinder containing cannabis residue was also found in his carry-on luggage. A mobile phone was seized during the process.
Records indicated that the individual was already subject to two national administrative measures requiring him to report to local police. The suspect was taken into custody for violating drug laws, and the seized substances are being sent to the General State Laboratory for testing.
