Port Said education officials prepare for new school year

Mahmoud Badawy, Director of the Port Said Directorate of Education, has initiated preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year. In recent meetings with educational stage directors and technical supervisors, Badawy emphasized the need to expedite teacher transfers and secondments to ensure a balanced distribution of staff across all specialties.

Key administrative priorities include finalizing student transfers between various school types—including official Arabic, official language, private, and technical schools—while ensuring equitable seat distribution. Badawy also stressed the importance of periodic monitoring of schools to identify and resolve any obstacles before the term begins.

Additionally, discussions have focused on the implementation of the Egyptian Baccalaureate system following recent ministerial amendments. These reforms aim to shift student assessment from rote memorization toward measuring comprehension, analysis, and application. Under the new guidelines, students must complete at least 60% of weekly and monthly assessments to qualify for their first examination opportunity.
