Porto Alegre hosts cultural and gastronomic celebrations in October

Porto Alegre is hosting various cultural and gastronomic celebrations throughout October. The Mercado Público de Porto Alegre is marking its 157th anniversary with a diverse schedule including religious services, cultural attractions, food fairs, and sporting events. Key highlights include an Oktoberfest celebration, a children's book fair, and a half marathon.

In the city's historic center, Chalé da Praça XV has launched a weekly German lunch service on Saturdays. The buffet features traditional dishes such as Eisbein, sauerkraut, and Apfelstrudel, accompanied by live music and craft beer to bring an Oktoberfest atmosphere to the capital.
