Porto Metropolitan Area to launch PITCH innovation hub

The Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) is set to play a central role in the implementation of PITCH (Porto Innovation and Technology Community Hub). This project aims to establish a metropolitan-scale innovation and technology ecosystem by connecting research, companies, and academic knowledge with the local territory.

Presented to regional mayors and university rectors, the initiative seeks to create a large-scale platform to attract investment, foster qualified employment, and retain talent. The project intends to establish research poles, laboratories, and prototyping centers across various locations. Several municipalities, including Matosinhos, Maia, Gondomar, and Valongo, have expressed interest in providing spaces to host different components of the hub.
