Porto reintroduces historic Tram Line 22

The historic Tram Line 22 has returned to the streets of Porto this summer. The circular route connects Carmo to Batalha, passing through key landmarks such as Praça da Liberdade and the Clérigos Tower.

City Mayor Pedro Duarte and STCP President Luís Osório marked the return of the line, which offers a 30-minute journey through the city's historic center. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote various modes of public transport, including buses, metro, river transport, and trams.

Local residents are seeing significant engagement with mobility programs, as 100,000 Porto residents have signed up for the Free Metropolitan Pass. This measure aims to support families and encourage a progressive shift in urban mobility habits.
