Portonovo emergency services rescue tourist after cardiac arrest
Emergency responders in Portonovo, Italy, conducted two separate medical interventions on August 17. The most critical incident occurred near the Mezzavalle beach path, where a 62-year-old male tourist from Milan suffered a sudden cardiac arrest due to pre-existing heart conditions.
Rescue teams, including the Crass medical unit, the Croce Gialla of Camerano, and a Portonovo rescue boat, performed resuscitation efforts and used a defibrillator four times to stabilize the man. He was subsequently transported in critical condition to the Torrette regional hospital.
A second, less severe intervention took place in the Capannina area of the Portonovo bay, where a 46-year-old woman from Vicenza required medical assistance and was also taken to Torrette hospital for evaluation.
