Portugal Certifies New Gluten‑Free Bakery in Seixal and Opens Pau de Canela Outlet in Sintra

Saborear Sem Glúten, a dedicated gluten‑free bakery, café and tea house in Fernão Ferro, Seixal, has been officially certified by the Portuguese Celiac Association. The venue, which began in a home kitchen and expanded to a specialised storefront in 2025, offers a full range of artisan breads, pastries, pizzas and other baked goods that are 100 % gluten‑free, meeting HACCP standards to prevent cross‑contamination.

Meanwhile, the historic Portuguese pastry chain Pau de Canela has opened its first shop in Sintra on Avenida Dr. Miguel Bombarda. The new location adds classic brand items to a menu that also features local specialties such as Sintra’s queijadas and travesseiros, alongside a variety of brunches, meals and artisanal ice creams. The shop will also host a guest house on its lower floor later this summer. Both openings broaden the range of specialty food options available to Portuguese consumers.
