Portugal initiates slope stabilization works in Setúbal and Porto de Mós
Emergency stabilization and containment works are commencing in two Portuguese locations to address soil instability and erosion risks caused by recent storms.
In Setúbal, construction begins this Monday on the slope between the N10-4 road and the Albarquel Urban Park. The project, costing approximately 101,000 euros, aims to mitigate the risk of landslides, falling debris, and structural collapse. Due to the instability of the terrain, one lane on the N10-4 will be closed to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
In Porto de Mós, the northern entrance near Anaia will close this Wednesday to facilitate containment works on the EN362 road. This intervention follows a partial slope collapse during Storm Kristin. The project, estimated at 470,000 euros, will require traffic diversions for both light vehicles and heavy goods vehicles to navigate around the construction zone.
