Portugal launches new cultural incubator and art biennial

Portugal is launching two new cultural initiatives aimed at fostering local talent and international exchange. In Amadora, the Arteduto cultural incubator has been launched by the association LEVES – Fronteira dos Afetos in partnership with the Amadora City Council. The project reserves over 80 percent of its programming for individuals who were born, live, or work in the municipality. Running until April 2027, the incubator focuses on identifying and supporting local artists and creators through professional meetings, training, and artistic creation.

Simultaneously, the municipality of Odemira is hosting the inaugural edition of the Odemira Art and Science Biennial. Curated by Hugo Cruz, the event aims to establish the region as a space for contemporary creation and international dialogue. The program includes workshops, installations, and performances across several locations, including Vila Nova de Milfontes and São Luís. The biennial also features the introduction of the Madalena Victorino International Artistic Creation Grant.
