Portugal police probe €346,000 jewelry theft after The Voice Portugal finale

On 4 January 2024 the finale of RTP’s talent show The Voice Portugal featured presenter Raquel Petronilho wearing a set of luxury jewellery loaned by designer Maria Baptista. The collection, made of six necklaces, a bracelet, four pairs of earrings and hair‑hooks in white and yellow gold set with diamonds, green quartz and Colombian emeralds, was valued at over €346,000.

The pieces were never returned to the designer. Portugal’s police (PSP) opened a criminal investigation, coordinated by the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) in Lisbon. Baptista accuses fashion producer Raquel Guerreiro of the disappearance; Guerreiro filed a theft report with Faro police. Investigators traced the jewellery being packaged in a blue IKEA bag and moved from the Paço de Arcos studios to the Beato area, but the items remain missing. Singer‑mentor Fernando Daniel later posted a humorous Instagram video asserting his innocence while promoting his new single.
