Portugal President pledges smooth second phase of national exams amid grading controversy

The President of Portugal said he expects the second phase of the national exams to take place without any problems, urging a rapid resolution to the ongoing grading controversy. He emphasized the need to restore trust in the assessment process, support families, students and teachers, and ensure that no pupil is disadvantaged. The President also called for the audit commissioned by the government to draw clear conclusions and prevent similar issues in future years. The remarks came as criticism also focused on Interior Minister Luís Neves over the handling of the exam dispute.
