Portugal imposes temporary traffic restrictions for road and infrastructure works

From 13 July to the end of August, the historic wall of Santarém will be rehabilitated, prompting temporary traffic conditioning on Rua Luís de Camões, Travessa das Figueiras and adjoining streets. The municipality has set specific entry and exit routes and asks drivers to follow temporary signage.

Between 13 and 17 July, Reguengos de Monsaraz will carry out street cleaning and maintenance on several urban roads, including Rotunda do Sol, Quinta da Luz and Rua Monsaraz. Motorists are advised not to park in the affected zones to avoid debris hazards.

Starting 16 July, the EN‑17 (Estrada da Beira) in Miranda do Corvo will undergo a three‑month stabilisation of five taludes. Traffic will run alternately under traffic‑light control with a 30 km/h speed limit during daytime; night‑time circulation remains unrestricted. The work is part of a €1.2 million investment covering taludes in the Coimbra district.

On 17‑19 July, foot traffic on the existing level crossing in Tunes will be closed while new pedestrian‑bridge decks are installed. Vehicular access on Estrada dos Amendoais will also be conditioned. The €2 million project aims to improve railway safety and accessibility.

Night‑time traffic diversions are also planned on the IP‑3 corridor between Tondela and Viseu on 11‑13 May as part of a €103 million duplication and upgrade programme, with drivers rerouted via the former EN‑2.
