Portugal rolls out night traffic restrictions on IP3 and reverses downtown Porto lane directions
Infraestruturas de Portugal will impose nighttime traffic restrictions on the IP3 corridor between Tondela and Viseu from the evenings of 11 May to 13 May, diverting vehicles onto the old EN2 while concrete barriers and new signage are installed. The 27.5‑km upgrade, part of a €103 million duplication and re‑qualification project, aims to improve safety and capacity on this key Central Portugal route.
The Porto City Council is reversing several one‑way traffic arrangements in the Baixa district on 13 July, restoring original street directions to improve flow and expand dedicated bus corridors. The changes add 500 m of bus‑only lane on Rua de Ceuta, create new bus corridors on Rua da Restauração and Campo Mártires da Pátria, and formalize an electric‑car lane on Rua dos Clérigos, prioritising public transport after the completion of the Metro’s Linha Rosa works.
