Workers at Comboios de Portugal (CP) and the Lisbon Metro have scheduled strikes that will disrupt public transportation in late October. The Railway Union of Itinerant Commercial Review (SFRCI) has called for a strike on October 30, with CP warning of potential service impacts on the preceding and following days.

Lisbon Metro workers have also scheduled strikes for October 28 and 30, specifically between 05:00 and 10:00. The Metro company has indicated it will request the Arbitration Tribunal to establish minimum services to mitigate passenger disruption.

The CP strike involves ticket office staff, conductors, and management. Union representatives state the industrial action aims to address the loss of purchasing power caused by rising costs for fuel, housing, food, and utilities. Workers are seeking measures to recover lost income and improvements to travel subsidies.

CP has announced that passengers with existing tickets for Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, InterRegional, or Regional services may request a full refund or a free exchange for a train in the same category and class. Refunds can be processed online via the CP website and app, or in person at ticket offices.
