Portugal's EduQA signs over €500,000 Deloitte contracts for exam digitalisation
EduQA announced that in July it concluded two contracts with consulting firm Deloitte, totalling more than €500,000, to support technical aspects of the digitalisation and electronic classification of Portugal's secondary school national exams.
The first contract, signed on 2 July, was a direct simplified adjustment worth €4,999.99 plus VAT (€6,149.98 total) and targeted correction of QR‑code reading processes and data transfer between the Classification and Supervision Platform and the IAVE online classification system. The second contract, signed on 12 July, was for €406,380 plus VAT (€499,758.84 total) and covered a second phase of the exams, providing specialised consultancy, anomaly analysis, technical support, corrective development, monitoring and oversight of the digital platforms.
EduQA said the contracts were executed under the Portuguese Public Contracts Code due to urgent, unpredictable circumstances and that payment would be made upon invoice, which is why the contracts are not yet listed on the public BASE portal, though they will be published within the legal deadline. The disclosure follows media reports questioning the secrecy of the agreements.
