Portugal's EPAL and community festivals promote water awareness

EPAL launched the "A Água Não Nasce na Torneira" campaign to highlight the journey of each drop before it reaches homes, urging responsible consumption. The utility emphasized that "opening the tap only takes seconds, but guaranteeing safe, high‑quality water requires knowledge, technology and continuous investment," according to its statement. The campaign will run across CNN Portugal, national media, radio and social platforms, featuring infographics and everyday‑life stories.

In the village of Souto, Abrantes, the Festa do Futuro returns with the theme "Água, Fonte de Festa" to explore water resources, climate impacts and community ties. Festival president Carolina Serrão said the slogan reflects the event’s focus on water as both life‑source and cultural catalyst. The two‑day program includes concerts, theater, workshops and river‑observatory activities, aiming to foster dialogue on floods, droughts and the symbolic role of water.
