Portugal's IP3 roadworks disrupt traffic between Santa Comba Dão and Viseu
Infraestruturas de Portugal announced that the IP3 main road will be partially closed each night from July 27 to July 31 as part of the duplication and re‑qualification project between Santa Comba Dão and Viseu.
The closures affect three sections: Treixedo–Tondela Sul, Tondela Sul–Canas de Santa Maria, and Canas de Santa Maria–São Miguel de Outeiro. Traffic will be detoured onto the old National Road 2 (EN2) in both directions. Works include temporary and vertical signage, road markings and concrete barriers, all intended to improve safety, capacity and travel times.
The 27.5 km stretch is being upgraded with an estimated investment of €103 million to raise the quality, comfort and efficiency of the Viseu‑Coimbra corridor.
